Skip the Gym and Try Taking an Acrobatics Class

Have you ever seen an aerialist or contortionist at the circus and wondered how many decades they’ve been practicing their tricks? Though some gymnasts do start training at a very young age, beginner acrobatics classes are becoming increasingly popular among adults who are finding that this way of exercising is more fun than spending hours on a treadmill or lifting weights.

Cheryl Birch started practicing acrobatics after being inspired by a Cirque Du Soleil performance when she was 12 years old. When she is not performing contortion, Cheryl teaches her skills to newbie adults who have found a fun way to stay in shape—as well as a supportive community.
