Do You Know How to Be Safe in the Summer Heat?

by Rachel Crowell
July 3, 2018 | Health

Portions of the U.S. have already seen record high temperatures this year–even before summer's official start on June 21. For the first time since 1934, temperatures in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, soared to 100 degrees, the Weather Channel reported, after experiencing frigid weather just weeks prior. For the first time on record, Madison, Wisconsin, experienced four consecutive May days with high temperatures in the 90s.

The effects of climate change are already grounding flights, threatening giant sequoias and tiny, cute animals, and even leaving us asking “Will humans survive climate change?” as we experience extreme temperature highs and lows.

Are you ready to face the heat? Do you have the health know-how to protect yourself from dehydration, heat exhaustion or even heat stroke? Take this quiz to find out.
